A note from Metro Atlanta Roofing & Remodeling owner, Barry Reece…

I am an Atlanta native and son of a preacher. I went to Atlanta public schools, and I met my wife – the love of my life – in Atlanta! I married her here, and we raised our four children here. In 1980, I moved to Houston, Texas and did my carpentry apprenticeship, then moved back to the ATL and started my own business in 1983.

There has been a Reece in Georgia since the state was chartered. My great-grandfather owned and operated a lumber mill in Ellijay (where my family is from) from about 1870 to 1920. My great uncle’s siding company, F.A. Reece Siding, was the first to offer aluminum siding in Atlanta in the 40’s, and the first to offer vinyl siding in the 60’s. My first company, RCS (Reece Construction & Siding), was the first to offer Hardi-Plank © as a remodeling product in Atlanta, back in 1995.

I met my business partner, Steve Huggins, in 1989. We were competitors initially, but we became fast friends! After just a few short years and after numerous conversations on the subject, we decided to open a business together, so in 2010, we did just that! Steve started first and named it Choice Exteriors, LLC, with offices here in Atlanta and one in Wichita, Kansas.

Unfortunately, Steve passed away on June 22, 2021, and left a large, empty space as my best friend and my business partner. He will be forever missed.

I wanted to continue on with the business, but felt a name change was in order, so I decided to change it to Metro Atlanta Roofing & Remodeling. It tells you who we are and what we are… Your Hometown Roofing and Remodeling Contractor!
